PAHAD KE RANG: ART EXHIBITION at Lokayata Art Gallery New Delhi

Pahad Ke Rang, implemented by Udhyam and housed under the Metores Trust, is dedicated to promoting rural artists through learning workshops. It's great to hear that they are organizing an exhibition in Lokayata Art Gallery, New Delhi to showcase the talent of these artists.

With 82 artworks on display, the exhibition provides a platform for budding artists to showcase their creativity and skills to a wider audience. The mentorship provided by me must have played a crucial role in nurturing and guiding these artists throughout the process. Such initiatives not only provide exposure and recognition to rural artists but also contribute to preserving and celebrating diverse forms of art.

Exhibitions like these offer a unique opportunity for art enthusiasts, collectors, and the general public to appreciate the talent and creativity that exists in rural communities. It helps bridge the gap between urban and rural art scenes, promoting cultural exchange and dialogue. It's heartening to see organizations like Metores Trust and Udhyam supporting and uplifting rural artists, empowering them through education, mentorship, and exhibition opportunities. These efforts play a significant role in fostering inclusivity and diversity in the art world while also contributing to the overall socio-economic development of rural communities.

YOGESH BHANDARI

I was born in Baluwakot, a remote mountainous region of Dharchula. I consider myself fortunate to have been born amidst the embrace of nature's lap, and these mountains have significantly contributed to my journey towards becoming an artist. They have been a profound source of inspiration, particularly for my landscape paintings. Living within the embrace of our folk culture and civilization has granted me the privilege of painting the vibrant tapestry of our people's lives, capturing the innocent countenances of both our fellow humans and the mountainous visages upon the canvas of my work.

Right from the outset, my preferred artistic medium has been watercolor. Much like how water quenches our physical thirst, watercolors satisfy my thirst for artistic expression. I am drawn to the continuous flow of water – its unrestrained nature mirrors the boundless freedom I find in exploring various branches, styles, and techniques of art. Similar to the unhindered flow of water, there exists no imposition on the realm of art.

Continuing to actively engage in artistic creation and conducting research on this subject remain steadfast priorities for me in the time ahead. As I look toward the future, I am committed to the ongoing pursuit of my artistic endeavors and the expansion of my understanding within this realm.
